Supply & Installation of Hot Water Systems

1. General Overview

These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern all online purchases, supply, and installation services provided by Ipswich Hot Water. By placing an order through our website or over the phone, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

2. Scope of Works

The quoted and paid price covers only the specific hot water system and installation package selected online.
Each package includes standard installation only, as outlined in the relevant product description.
Standard Installation Inclusions:

  • Removal and disposal of the existing hot water system (same size/type where applicable).
  • Supply and installation of the new system in the same location as existing.
  • Connection to existing plumbing and electrical points (where compatible).
  • Testing, commissioning, and clean-up of the work area.
  • Submission of Form 4 and compliance certificates where required.

3. Exclusions and Additional Charges

The following items are not included unless otherwise stated or quoted separately:

  • Relocation of the system to a different position or area on-site.
  • Upgrades to existing pipework, valves, wiring, or circuit protection.
  • Asbestos removal or disposal.
  • Installation of new power circuits, isolation switches, or concrete slabs.
  • Works requiring wall or roof penetration, scaffolding, or confined-space access.
  • Systems installed on bore, hard, or untreated water supplies (unless specifically approved).
  • Any plumbing, drainage, or electrical repairs outside of the standard installation scope.

If additional work is identified before or during installation, a revised quote will be provided. The customer may choose to:

  • Accept the revised quote and proceed, or
  • Decline and request a full refund of the original purchase.

Ipswich Hot Water reserves the right to refuse or cancel any installation if the required works differ from what was represented in the original online order.

4. Site Access & Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

    • Ensure safe and clear access to the installation site.
    • Provide accurate information about existing system type, power supply, and water quality.
    • Be present at the property (or have an authorised representative present) at the time of installation.
    • Obtain any owner or strata approvals if applicable.

Failure to provide accurate information or safe access may result in additional charges or cancellation of the job.

5. Pricing & Payment

All prices listed on our website are inclusive of GST and reflect standard installation only.
Full payment is required at the time of booking via our online checkout system.
In the event additional work is required:

  • A separate invoice will be issued before any extra works are performed.
  • No works will proceed until written approval and payment are received.

Ipswich Hot Water reserves the right to amend pricing or promotional offers at any time without notice.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

Before Work Commences:

  • Customers may cancel their booking for a full refund up to 24 hours before the scheduled installation.
  • If Ipswich Hot Water cancels the job due to scope changes, a full refund will be provided.

After Work Has Commenced:

  • Once installation has begun, refunds will only apply to unused equipment or unperformed labour at Ipswich Hot Water’s discretion.
  • Refunds are not available for change-of-mind cancellations once work has started.

Refusal of Service:
Ipswich Hot Water reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or postpone an installation if:

  • Site conditions are unsafe or non-compliant.
  • The existing setup differs materially from information provided.
  • Required electrical, plumbing, or structural work exceeds standard scope.

In such cases, Ipswich Hot Water will offer either:

  • A revised quote, or
  • A full refund of the original payment.

7. Warranty

Manufacturer’s Warranty:
All systems supplied come with the manufacturer’s standard warranty, subject to their terms and conditions.
Installation Warranty:
Ipswich Hot Water provides a lifetime workmanship warranty on all installation works performed directly by our licensed plumbers and gasfitters.
This warranty does not cover:

    • Pre-existing faults in plumbing or electrical systems.
    • Damage caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, or water quality issues (hard water, bore water, corrosion, etc.).
    • Third-party interference or unauthorised modifications.

8. Compliance and Standards

All installations are carried out in accordance with:

  • Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018 (QLD)
  • AS/NZS 3500 Plumbing and Drainage Standards
  • AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules
  • Manufacturer’s Installation Instructions

Ipswich Hot Water lodges QBCC Form 4 and issues compliance certificates where applicable.

9. Liability and Limitation

Ipswich Hot Water will not be held liable for:

  • Delays caused by factors outside our control (e.g. weather, supplier shortages, or access issues).
  • Damages resulting from faulty existing pipework, valves, wiring, or building structure.
  • Loss of income, inconvenience, or secondary damage due to failed equipment.

Our total liability is limited to the value of the services or goods supplied.

10. Ownership of Goods

Ownership of all goods remains with Ipswich Hot Water until full payment has been received.
In the event of non-payment, Ipswich Hot Water reserves the right to remove any supplied equipment.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
Any disputes shall be resolved within the jurisdiction of Queensland courts.

12. Acceptance of Terms

By proceeding with payment online or by phone, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to all Ipswich Hot Water Terms and Conditions.
No works will be scheduled without acceptance of these terms.

13. Temporary Hot Water Systems & Installation Delays


In the event that:

  • The selected hot water system is out of stock,
  • The allocated electrician or plumber
    becomes unavailable, or
  • Installation is delayed due to unforeseen supplier or scheduling constraints.

Ipswich Hot Water will provide a temporary hot water system (loan unit) at no additional cost to ensure the customer has continued access to hot water until the agreed system and installation can be completed.

All installations affected by such delays will be rescheduled and prioritised as soon as possible once materials and personnel are available.

Ipswich Hot Water will communicate promptly with the customer regarding new installation dates and progress updates.
